Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana
The state scheme, and the one most likely to apply if the national list did not have your family on it. It is held to the ration card, not to an income certificate.
Government of Jharkhand
What you get
- Up to ₹15 lakh per family per year of cashless treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals.
- Cover for ordinary illness and for the serious ones — cancer, heart disease and kidney treatment among them.
- No age limit and no cap on family size: everybody named on the ration card is covered.
- Pre-existing conditions are covered from the start.
Who it is for
- Any Jharkhand resident family holding a valid green, yellow or pink ration card.
- Families already covered by Ayushman Bharat continue there; this scheme is what carries the cover beyond it, and what covers families the national list missed.
What to take with you
- Ration card (green, yellow or pink)
- Aadhaar card for the person being treated
How to check and apply
- 1bis.jharkhand.gov.in is the state’s own page for the scheme.
- 2The help desk inside any empanelled district or private hospital will check the ration card against the scheme and tell you where you stand.
- 3A Common Service Centre (CSC) or the block office can also check it for you.
What it is not
It is hospital cover, not a discount at a clinic, and it is a Jharkhand scheme — it does not travel with you to another state.
Not sure where you stand?
Call us and we will read the page out and tell you which of the three to try first. It costs nothing and we answer in Hindi.
